“Jack’s Corner”
A band called “Sunday Drive”

All of you who listen to Praise 96 FM out of Knoxville will remember “The Eagle Song”. Jeff Treece is the son of the lady that wrote the song.

Jeff is an excellent song writer, singer and key board player. I have known Jeff for several years. I have watch Jeff clime the charts with his songs. One I like is “Road Rage”. This is one of the songs I played on “The Jack Hodge Gospel” Show a lot.

The following will tell you a lot about Jeff and the band “Sunday Drive”

SUNDAY DRIVE is a Tennessee based band that tours over 200 dates per year. Many promoters compare Sunday Drive to Rascal Flatts, Sugar Land and Lady Antebellum.

This Multi-Award winning family vocal group has played the Grand Ole Opry, Ghost Town, Dollywood, Branson, NSRA Events, Silver Dollar City, Riverboats and many large fairs and festivals. During many national performances, they have had the privilege to share the stage with such acts as Lonestar, Backstreet Boys, The Oak Ridge Boys, Tanya Tucker, Craig Morgan, Gene Watson, Earl Thomas Conley, George Jones, Billy Ray Cyrus, Stella Parton, HeeHaw's LuLu Roman and Josh Turner.  Charlie Monk of Sirius/XM Satellite Radio states, "This is one of the best acts to come down the pike in a long time, I believe soon the whole world will know the name of this "HOT" new act "SUNDAY DRIVE".

In 2005, Jeff of Sunday Drive was informed that the Marine Moms had chosen his song, "Angels Watching," as the organization's official theme song. The song was a perfect fit for the organization because it tells a story of a mother praying for her son as he journeys through every aspect of his life, including war times. Jeff donated complete artist royalties to the Marine Moms. The song broke the Media Base/R&R (Radio and Records) country top 200 in early 2006 and landed the #1 position on the Power Source weekly Top 20 count down 2/16/2006, beating out Carrie Underwood's mega hit "Jesus Take The Wheel".

To treat your audience with a good dose of Country, Inspirational Music, laughter and just a great time, SUNDAY DRIVE is just what the doctor ordered.

Jeff’s is a comedian this is some of his jokes

1. A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3.
The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake.
Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson.
' If Jesus were sitting here, He would say,
' Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait. '
Kevin turned to his younger brother and said,
' Ryan , you be Jesus ! '

2. After the christening of his baby brother in church,
Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car.
His father asked him three times what was wrong.
Finally, the boy replied, That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I wanted to stay with you guys.

With the legendary Ann Downing

I have played Ann Downing’s music on my radio show a long time. I’ve watched Ann on TV with the Gathers for many years. I’ve talked with her office many times. Today I talked with Ann Downing to get her permission to put her story out. What a delightful person.

"I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live." Psalm 104:33

More than likely you’ve seen Ann Downing as a regular on the popular Gaither Homecoming Video series. However the majority of her time is spent maintaining a full schedule of church concerts and speaking engagements each weekend traveling throughout the United States and Canada.

Apart from her affiliation with the Gaither Homecoming Friends, Ann’s own versatile music style appeals to a wide range of musical tastes and age groups, not just the Gaither Video fans While she is a commissioned song evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene, Ann enjoys sharing her music and ministry with a wide variety of denominations.

Ann’s unique presentation style is also appealing in that she comes down from the platform to communicate with the audience on a very personal level. Her spontaneous, off-the-cuff delivery gives the feeling of a conversational visit rather than a rigid formal program.

Raised on a cotton farm in rural Mississippi, Ann grew up dreaming of the day she’d sing gospel music all over the world. Right out of high school she began to realize that dream by securing a position with the legendary Speer Family, later marrying the man of her dreams and co-founding a group that helped shape the face of Gospel music we have today. She won the industry’s highest honor—the Dove Award—for Female Vocalist within a year of co-founding the Downing’s and went on to be inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Ann has been lauded with various awards and accolades throughout her gospel music career spanning over forty years. However, she’s quick to tell you that she’s like you in many ways. Fading success? She’s been there! Crumbling marriage or financial ruin? She’s been there! Lost a spouse or experienced a devastating trauma in your family? Ann’s walked in your shoes!

What do you do when you can’t “fix” what’s wrong in your life or the lives of those you love? What do you do when the circumstances of your life beg the question, “do you really believe what you’ve said about trusting God?” Ann’s intensely personal story is one that reaches us all where we live and helps us hold firmly to the promise that “earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t heal.”

Bible Facts
Jack Hodge

Lets study how we got our different languages and got placed all over the world. You will find the answer in The King James Bible.
In The Book of Genesis Chapter 11 verse 1 through 9.

Verses

1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.

4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Jack’s Corner
Memories

My wife Linda and I took a little mini vacation to Olive Hill Kentucky, the home town of country singer Tom T. Hall, a distant relative of Linda‘s. Sometime you need a break from the every day hum drum to relax.

We visited Linda’s brother who had moved back to the old home place. Linda and her family lived in a little country community. A lot of Linda’s childhood friends still live in the old neighbor hood. The old one room school house is now a church. This was not the first time we had returned to visit, but this time brought back memories for me as well as Linda.

Linda and her brother Mike had taken a walk up the road.
They met and talked to several friends from Linda’s past.
As we sat on the front porch that evening several neighborhood people began to gather. Singer James Bronson came with his guitar, Donny Williams with his harmonica, and his wife Dixie. James and Donny are in a band called “The Dusty Road Band”. John Newsome came with his wit, Doug Buckner a life long friend of Linda’s. Many gathered on the front porch. James played his guitar and sang, Donny played backup with his harmonica. A lot of old songs were sang, I would join in on a course every now and then. I have an album given to me a couple of years ago of James and Donnie’s band “The Dusty Road Band”. I guess my favorite song on the album is “Amazing Grace” . James sings lead and Donny sings harmony. Donny has a solo with his Harmonica and James has a solo on the electric guitar. The song is beautifully preformed by “The Dusty Road Band”.

What a wonderful time we had. This special time was bringing back memories of my childhood when we would gather on our front porch. Mom with guitar in hand playing and singing, We would all join in and sing along on a lot of the old Gospel favorites.

As you read through the Bible you will read where people sang and danced for God. Read In The Book of Psalm Chapter 150 starting with verse one.

1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.

3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.

4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.

6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Our lives have gotten much to busy, we don’t take the time to enjoy friends and family as we should.

I would like to suggest families give this a try once in a while. Get your children and neighbors together for good conversation and singing. Teach your young about the days of old and the things we did. We would play fox and hound, hide and seek, and kick the bucket to mention a few. A lot of games that was fun and also gave us exercises.

Thank you unknown writer.

NOAH TODAY

In the year 2008, the Lord came unto Noah, who was now living in the United States, and said:
"Once again, the earth has become wicked and over
-populated, and I see the end of all flesh before me."

"Build another Ark and save 2 of every living thing
along with a few good humans."

He gave Noah the blueprints, saying:
"You have 6 months to build the Ark before I will
start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights."

Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah
weeping in his yard - but no Ark.

"Noah!," He roared, "I'm about to start the rain!
Where is the Ark?"

"Forgive me, Lord," begged Noah, "but things have changed."

"I needed a building permit."

"I've been arguing with the inspector
about the need for a sprinkler system."

"My neighbors claim that I've violated the
neighborhood zoning laws by building the Ark in my
yard and exceeding the height limitations. We had to
go to the Development Appeal Board for a decision."

"Then the Department of Transportation demanded a
bond be posted for the future costs of moving power
lines and other overhead obstructions, to clear the
passage for the Ark's move to the sea. I told them
that the sea would be coming to us, but they would
hear nothing of it."

"Getting the wood was another problem. There's a ban
on cutting local trees in order to save the spotted owl."

"I tried to convince the environmentalists that I
needed the wood to save the owls - but no go!"

"When I started gathering the animals, an animal
rights group sued me. They insisted that I was
confining wild animals against their will. They
argued the accommodations were too restrictive, and
it was cruel and inhumane to put so many animals in
a confined space."

"Then the EPA ruled that I couldn't build the Ark
until they'd conducted an environmental impact study
on your proposed flood."

"I'm still trying to resolve a complaint with the
Human Rights Commission on how many minorities I'm
supposed to hire for my building crew."

"Immigration and Naturalization are checking the
green-card status of most of the people who want to work."

"The trades unions say I can't use my sons. They
insist I have to hire only Union workers with
Ark-building experience."

"To make matters worse, the IRS seized all my assets,
claiming I'm trying to leave the country illegally
with endangered species."

"So, forgive me, Lord, but it would take at least 10
years for me to finish this Ark."

"Suddenly the skies cleared, the sun began to shine,
and a rainbow stretched across the sky."

Noah looked up in wonder and asked,
"You mean you're not going to destroy the world?"

"No," said the Lord. "The GOVERNMENT beat me to it."

THE YEAR 1909

When I came across this bit of info I thought all could use it. This will boggle your mind. I had thought about our progress over the past hundred years a lot of times, but had never wrote it down. God has been good to us, we should take care of our many, many blessings.

The year is 1909. One hundred years ago. What a difference a century makes! Here are some statistics for the Year 1909 :

The average life expectancy was 47 years.

Only 14 percent of the homes had a bathtub.

Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone.

There were only 8,000 cars and only 144 miles of paved roads.

The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph..

The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower!

The average wage in 1909 was 22 cents per hour.

The average worker made between $200 and $400 per year .

A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year,
A dentist $2,500 per year, a veterinarian between $1,500 and $4,000 per year, and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year.
More than 95 percent of all births took place at HOME .

Ninety percent of all doctors had NO COLLEGE EDUCATION!
Instead, they attended so-called medical schools, many of which
Were condemned in the press AND the government as 'substandard. '

Sugar cost four cents a pound, Eggs were fourteen cents a dozen and
Coffee was fifteen cents a pound.

Most women only washed their hair once a month, and used
Borax or egg yolks for shampoo.

Canada passed a law that prohibited poor people from
Entering into their country for any reason.

Five leading causes of death were:
1. Pneumonia and influenza
2. Tuberculosis
3. Diarrhea
4. Heart disease
5. Stroke

The American flag had 45 stars, The population of Las Vegas , Nevada, was only 30!!!!. Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and ice tea
Had not been invented yet.

There was no Mother's Day or Father's Day.

Two out of every 10 adults couldn't read or write.
Only 6 percent of ll Americans had graduated from high school.

Marijuana, heroin, and morphine were all available over the counter at the local corner drugstores. Back then pharmacists said, 'Heroin clears the complexion, gives buoyancy to the mind, regulates the stomach and bowels, and is, in fact, a perfect guardian of health'

Eighteen percent of households had at least
One full-time servant or domestic help.

There were about 230 reported murders in the ENTIRE ! U.S.A. !

Try to imagine what it may be like in another 100 years.
IT STAGGERS THE MIND

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

The Lord’s Prayer

Matthew 6 Verse 7: But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Verse 8: Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask him.

Verse 9: After this manner therefore pray ye:

"Our Father, which art in Heaven"
"Hallowed be thy Name"
"Thy kingdom come"
"Thy will be done, in earth as it is in Heaven"
"Give us this day our daily bread"
"And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.”
"And lead us not into temptation"
"But deliver us from evil"
For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, for ever and ever.
Amen"

Noa's Ark constructed to the Bibles facts.

I would like to thank Rhonnie Scheurman of RhonBob Promotions out of Kodak, Tn for sending this to me.

NOAH'S ARK

Man Builds Noah's Ark (To The exact scale given in Bible)

Working Replica of Noah's Ark Opened In SCHAGEN, Netherlands

The massive central door in the side of Noah's Ark was opened the first crowd of curious townsfolk to behold the wonder. Of course, it's only a replica of the biblical Ark , built by Dutch Creationist Johan Huibers as a testament to his faith in the literal truth of the Bible.

The ark is 150 cubits long, 30 cubits high and 20 cubits wide. That's two-thirds the length of a football field and as high as a three-story house.

Life-size models of giraffes, elephants, lions, crocodiles, zebras, bison and other animals greet visitors as they arrive in the main hold.

A contractor by trade, Huibers built the ark of cedar and pine. Biblical Scholars debate exactly what the wood used by Noah would have been.

Huiber s did the work mostly with his own hands, using modern tools and with occasional help from his son Roy. Construction began in May 2005. On the uncovered top - deck not quite ready in time for the opening - will come a petting zoo, with baby lambs and chickens, and goats, and one camel.

Visitors on the first day were stunned. 'It's past comprehension', said Mary Louise Starosciak, who happened to be bicycling by with her husband while on vacation when they saw the ark looming over the local landscape.

'I knew the story of Noah, but I had no idea the boat would have
been so big.' There is enough space near the keel for a 50-seat film theater where kids can watch a video that tells the story of Noah and his ark. Huibers, a Christian man, said he hopes the project will renew interest in Christianity in the Netherlands, where church going has fallen dramatically in the past 50 years.

"Now that I am old and Gray...give me the time to tell This new generation (and their children too) About all your mighty miracles."

Life with Scotty McCreery and Josh Turner

I had been a big fan of Josh Turner for a long time. When “Long Black Train” was released I played it on “The Jack Hodge Gospel Show” about every week for a while. Josh’s bass voice has captured millions of people and now comes along Scotty McCreery with that same captivating voice. The first time I heard Scotty, I was positive he would be the next “American Idle”. Scotty is on his way to be a big country star. I’m proud of Scotty as he never forgets God whom gave him his talent. Scotty always thanks God for his talent.

A big surprise to me was when I saw Scotty birthday is October 9 and so is mine. With a 56 year difference. Read on and enjoy.

Scott Cooke "Scotty" McCreery (born October 9, 1993) is an American country singer from Garner, North Carolina, who won the tenth season of American Idol on May 25, 2011. Later in the year, McCreery released his coronation single "I Love You This Big", the first release from his upcoming Mercury Nashville album, Clear as Day.
Early life
McCreery was born in 1993 to Judy (née Cooke) and Michael McCreery in Garner, North Carolina. His mother works as a realtor, and his father works as a manufacturing systems analyst. McCreery used to impersonate Elvis as a child, and started learning guitar at age ten. He attended Timber Drive Elementary School in Garner, and later West Lake Middle School where he sang at his graduation. He also attended Garner Magnet High School where he joined a vocal ensemble, Die Meistersingers, that performs across the United States. He started out singing tenor but switched to bass when his voice turned lower in his sophomore year.
Scotty McCreery won a singing contest called "Clayton Idol" at the Clayton Harvest Festival in Clayton, North Carolina, and was one of 36 finalists in a "Rip the Hallways" contest featuring teenage vocalists in North Carolina. He has performed at various local events. He also attended Caswell Youth Retreat in the summer of 2009, and participated in the talent show there singing Long Black Train by Josh Turner.

Talk about a vote of confidence!
Just a week before the release of Scotty McCreery’s debut album, Clear As Day, country superstar Brad Paisley has announced that the American Idol winner will be joining him on the road in 2012.
On Sunday, as part of an encore performance during the final show on his H2O II: Wetter & Wilder World Tour, Paisley surprised audiences by bringing McCreery out on stage with him. “Do you want to go on tour with me?” he asked. When the North Carolina-native nodded “Yes,” Paisley responded, “Great, I’m going to take you out next year!
Details on the tour will be released soon, but it’s safe to say that McCreery is already excited about it. “it’s really humbling that somebody like him would invite me to tour w/ him,” he tweeted. “I just hope i’m ready for any pranks he throws my way.”
While it remains to be seen whether Scotty will enjoy true career longevity, the deep-voiced country crooner has certainly gotten off to a good start. Since Idol wrapped, his exclusive Wal-Mart disc, American Idol Season 10: Scotty McCreery EP, has sold 185,000 copies, and his coronation single “I Love You This Big,” reached number 15 on Billboard‘s Country Songs chart.

I received this note by e-mail from Josh Turner

A Note From Josh
What a year 2011 has been! It's been much busier than I'd anticipated! We've had a great year of live shows on the road. You fans have been so awesome to me and continue to be so supportive. Things really started to pick up when a guy named Scotty McCreery started singing my songs on American Idol. You all know the rest of the story! One of my dreams came true this summer when my hero, Randy Travis, asked me to be a part of his new duet record,25th Anniversary Celebration, singing a song called "T.I.M.E." He joined us all at my fan club party, we did the Today Show, the Tonight Show, and played a live show together in Detroit, MI. I started the year writing for my new record and at this point we are halfway done with it. We just did the photo shoot for it this week and I'm getting really excited about it all coming together. Keep checking back to joshturner.com ( http://e2ma.net/go/10775847335/3946479/110204610/14276/goto:http://www.joshturner.com/ )for updates on everything and thank you all again for your love!

Sincerely,
Josh

Josh
"I've learned from certain people that it takes a lot of hard work, passion and love for what you do to have longevity in this career."

Josh explores his love for Jesus in "The Answer," a soaring song that required Josh to step out of his comfort zone in the studio. "There was a spot in that last chorus where I was like, 'This song has got to just bust wide open,'" he says. "It was a little tough for me because I'm not used to singing way up there in the high part of my register, but you definitely hear that on that song. It is such a powerful song so I just gave it all that I had."

Josh uses this same approach to his career in the music industry, where many artists seem to come and go quickly. "I don't ever want to take anything for granted," he says. "I've learned from certain people that it takes a lot of hard work, passion and love for what you do to have longevity in this career."

Until next time,

Jack’s Corner
Brief Biography of Jackie Richard Hodge-
Award Winning Gospel Singer, Songwriter, Columnist and Poet.

I have written for many magazines and thought it was time my readers read something about me.

This story is to show others what God will do if you are obedient. Remember this word "Obedient." I've wanted to sing as long as I can remember. My mother would sing country and gospel songs around the house as far back as I can remember. I was always a music lover. I was told before I could walk or talk, mom would turn on music on the radio, they would hold me up and my little legs would go with the music. As I got older I sang along with the country singers on the radio, with singers like Hank Williams Sr., The Chuckwagon Gang and singers on the Mid Day Merry Go Round on WNOX out of Knoxville, Tennessee. In the summer we would gather with neighbors and friends on the front porch. Mom would play the guitar and we would sing. It would be a mixture of gospel and country music. As I entered into my teen years rock and roll was the big thing . By this time we had moved up north to Illinois, as mom was ill and we went to live with my older brother Bob and his wife Loretta. Dad died when I was 9 years old and mom was having a hard time. But that's another story. As a teenager, I wanted to be a rock singer. At 16 I was given the opportunity to record a love song. I took the time to learn the song. It was a beautiful song but I thought it would cramp my style, so I turned it down. Keep in mind, God had a plan for me. I was being molded along the way for bigger and better work for Him.
At 17 I got saved. I worked for the Lord for about a year. A word to those leading and rearing young Christians, choose carefully what you say to them. I will not go into detail at this time but a minister I believed in caused me to leave the Church with a statement he made. (Another story later)
A few years passed and I began to sing from time to time in night clubs and bars but never went anywhere with my music.
As years came and went I spent time talking with God. Most of the time when something went wrong and I needed His help, and that was quite often.
Years passed and I lost business after business, my home and finally my family. I had not turned my back on God but I wasn't being obedient to God. There is that word again "Obedient." Remember this powerful word.
I wandered around from here to there for a while then decided to return to Tennessee, after loosing everything I owned and Loved; I had been striped like Job.
In 1992, I married a woman that had sung gospel music for 35 years.
In 1993, going through the mountains on I-40 east on our way to visit my brother in-law in North Carolina, I popped in a gospel tape of the McKameys. "Under His Feet" was playing and the tears began to stream down my face. The Spirit was so strong in the car that day. You needed to have been there and experienced what I felt that day to know what I mean. I gave my life back to God.
When we returned from North Carolina my wife Dela and I began to sing in churches around our area. I bought a guitar and Dela taught me a few cords, and I would sing with the guitar. Sometimes I would play but most of the time Dela would play when we sang.
Well, Satan got upset. He had lost me again and he thought he could get me back. "Wrong"! I'm getting ahead of my story.
In 1994 I had a heart attack. With a bad heart, asthma and emphysema, I am now on disability.
My wife Dela became very sick with cirrhosis of the liver. She got worse and worse. The last 2 years were the worst, as at times she didn't know how to feed herself. Sometimes she would ask me how to go to sleep and ect. If you have never dealt with someone with this type of disease it is hard for me to explain.
Dela finally went into a coma and passed away. I went through a very bad time, depression and such. I didn't know what I was going to do. But I felt it was time I took control and got back into life.
I asked a lady friend, Linda, to have dinner and conversation with me. This was part of Gods plan for me and her, as we fell in love that night as no other two people have ever fell in love. And we got married within 6 months, April of 1999. But I'm a little ahead of my story. God had been telling me for about 4 years to stop smoking cigarettes. He had a job for me and that job was to sing for him. In order to do a good job it required me to stop smoking. I had smoked since I was 13 years old. I have asthma and emphysema. I had said several times "Lord take away the craving for cigarettes." You know this is not what God was looking for. Quitting smoking was very difficult for me. In January of 2000, a friend of mine Dillard Craig said he had quit smoking. I asked him how he did it. He said he had the flu and every time he would try to smoke it would make him sick. As I was driving home from his house that night, I began to talk to God. I said "God, have these cigarettes make me sick so I don't want them." My dear friends, be very careful what and how you ask God to do something. Within a week I was in the hospital dying with my asthma and emphysema. But the night before I went into the Hospital I told God I would not smoke anymore. I was obedient and have stayed obedient. That is what God wants from us.
When I showed the Lord I could be obedient let me tell you all that has happened to me in a short 2 years:

As you can see, God has been good to me. This is what God will do for you, too, if you are simply obedient to his wishes. Put him first in your life and he will use you for his work. Just let him.

Brothers and sisters if you have never given your life to God to lead, guide and direct you, now is the time for you to do so. If you pray this simple prayer, God, come into my life, forgive me of my sins,

The Book of Exodus Chapter 20

1 And God spake all these words, saying,

2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Mt 5:33

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12 Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
